EMV Card Reader Not Working

Issue:  The card reader is not working

 

 

The Card Reader is frozen or locked up

  1. Hold down the backspace (yellow) key and the pound (#) key button at the same time for 3-5 seconds, until the card reader screen shows REBOOT IN PROGRESS. 

  2. The Card Reader will automatically reboot and be operational within 60 seconds. 

    1. If prompted, follow the instructions and click the green button to connect.

  3. If this does not work, call Fresh Tech immediately and open ticket if possible.

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

 

The Card Reader is showing the error message:  Cannot Connect

  1. Validate the POS terminal is powered on
    1. If not reboot the POS.
  2. Validate the POS terminal is ready to take orders
    1. If you are on the desktop, double click the Register icon to launch the POS software.
      1. Note:  The software may take up to 90 seconds to launch.  DO NOT try and launch the software again.
  3. If this does not work, call Fresh Tech immediately and open ticket if possible.
