ISSUE

New hourly AND / OR salary Team Member(s) need a Brink Login so that they can clock in and use the Brink POS Terminal.
REQUIREMENTS
- For the Hiring Manager:
- Managers are the only ones allowed to add team members to Brink. [Internal Note: Do not issue User access to Hourly Employees]
- An Active Brink Login needed for hiring manager.
- For the Team Member to be added
- must be successfully onboarded in Talent Reef
- must have all required info added into Compeat Workforce, as you'll need this info for the next steps.
- First, Last name
- Birthdate
- Hire Date
- POS Code and POS export filled out in Workforce under Labor > Employees > Entities and Jobs tab

GETTING STARTED
NOTE: Before getting started, please be aware that you will need to follow certain rules for Team Members being entered into Brink. Not following these instructions could result in creating major issues with weekly payroll.
The following fields in Brink need to match EXACTLY the info in Compeat Workforce:
- Brink First Name = Compeat First Name
- Brink Last Name = Compeat Last Name (the Middle Name in Compeat is not needed in Brink)
- Brink Payroll ID = Compeat POS Code (found on the Entities and Jobs Screen)
EMPLOYEE NAME
- Log in to Brink POS Admin Portal
- On the left side toolbar: Configuration > Settings Editor
- You’ll be taken to the Settings Editor screen, where you’ll be able to make changes to your location.
- From the top-left drop down menu, select the location where the new Brink Team Member will be logging in.
- On the left side toolbar: Select Employees > Add New Employee
- Enter First Name [Compeat First Name]
- Enter Last Name [Compeat Last Name]
- Display Name = [First Name, Last Name]
Next, we’ll go through each of the tabs on the Add Employee Screen.
ACCESS TAB
Team Member PIN
- You have to set up a PIN for each team member for them to access Clocking In in the Terminal.
- The PIN is the logging in / clocking in number. This will be a 3 or 4-digit number used to get access into their needed functions in the POS.
- Team Members PIN should be their POS Code.
More Notes on the PIN:
- The PIN is NOT viewable anywhere in the system by anyone.
- If you are a manager, you can change anyone’s PIN, at any time.
- The PIN is NOT tied to anything for mapping or reporting.
- Because you can’t view their PIN, the numbered convention for the PIN should be something they can remember, such as their current Aloha POS Code.
Changing the PIN
- Select “Change”
- New PIN = Their Clock in Number [Match the Compeat POS Code / Aloha clock-in code]
- Confirm = Reenter PIN
- OK
- Card Number = Leave Blank
- Notes = Leave Blank
Once you’ve changed the PIN
- Select the “Override Job Login” checkbox.
- Select “Can Login With PIN”
CONTACT TAB
Leave all fields blank. These are all found in Compeat. No need to have them in Brink.
DISCOUNTS TAB
Leave all fields blank. Fresh Kitchen does not assign specific discounts to individual team members.
JOBS TAB
This is where you’ll add all of the pertinent jobs for a Team Member
- Click - Add Employee Job
- Select Desired Job from Drop-down
- Select Security Level
- Cashiers get Cashier level
- Shift Leaders get Shit Leader Level
- BOH jobs, Line servers, Olo stations …. get Clock in Only Level
- Pay rate – Enter pay rate for that job
- Repeat steps 1-5 for every job needed adding for this employee
NOTE ON JOBS
- You must assign a security level to each job for each team member.
LOCATIONS TAB
You’ll only see the locations you have access to. No action needed.
PERMISSIONS TAB
All Permissions in this tab should be left unchecked unless the new team member is a salary Employee with Manager Functions needed
NOTE on PERMISSIONS:
- Shift leaders and Cashiers do not need access to manager functions, nor the ability to have manager approval, nor the ability to open the cash drawer.
- We have the capability to view which team member was logged in for each transaction, and the ability to see which manager approval was used for each Void, Open Cash Drawer, Refund, etc…
HR TAB

Enter birth Date – this is used to track breaks for underage team members

Hire date – copy from compeat

Term date – leave blank

Health card date – leave blank

Payroll ID – [Compeat POS Code – must match exactly]

External ID - [Compeat POS Code – must match exactly]

Marital Status – leave blank

Tax withholding – leave blank

Export to Payroll – CHECK THIS BOX
Once all the above tabs are filled out properly, Click OK from the bottom right. You are now ready to Publish.
BEFORE PUBLISING
Once you’re back to the list of employees, you’ll need to PUBLISH your team member changes
LAST STEP, Very Important >>> If you do not “PUBLISH” the work you’ve done, your team member data will not save.
NOTES ON PUBLISHING BEST PRACTICES
- Publish Often
- Publish after entering each new Team Member’s data
- Publish after making changes to each Team Member
PUBLISH
Once you Select OK after filling in all appropriate data, you’ll be taken back to the Settings Editor screen.
- Select PUBLISH from the top toolbar
- In the popup “Publish Changeset” Box:
- Write a short title of what was changed:
- Title Example: New Team Member – Mickey Mouse
- Select OK
Publishing your new team member is now complete.
Your Team Member changes are now published and are now live on the POS Terminal, and they’ll be able to log in and clock in.
