Issue: Team member has forgotten their Office 365 password. (Email, Teams, Sharepoint)

  

Requirements:

  • Team member must be in the MFA Inclusion security group to change their own password.

 

Steps

  1. Open Office 365 login portal on your computer
  2. Enter your email address
  3. Click Next
  4. Click Forgot my Password
    1. The email address should have self-populated, if not enter your email address again.
  5. Enter the captcha field,
  6. Click Next

             

   7. Select Approve a notification on my Authenticator app

   8. Click Send Notification

   9. A number will appear, you will need this soon.

              

10. On your cell phone, you will get a notification from the authenticator app. The notification will say Approve sign-in?

11. Click the notification

12. The application will open.

13. A text box will appear for you to enter a number. Enter the number you received from the step above.

14. Click Yes

 

15. Back on the computer, the screen will now have changed for you to enter a new password.

16. The password must be a minimum of 8 characters long containing the following:1 upper case, 1 lower case, 1 number, and 1 symbol.

17. Enter the password twice

18. Click Finish

19. You can now go back to the login page.

  1. Login entering your email and new password.
