Scanner Troubleshooting

Issue: Store states the scanner is not working

 

Potential Issues:

  1. Scanner is not powered
  2. USB cable is not connected
  3. PC needs to be rebooted

 

Scanner is Not Powered

  1. On the back of the scanner validate the power cable is fully seated.
    1. To ensure the cable is fully seated unplug the cable and plug it back in
  2. Trace the cable back to the outlet to ensure this end is not lose or unplugged
  3. Press the power button to test power

 

USB Cables is Not Connected

  1. On the back of the scanner validate the USB cable is fully seated
    1. To ensure the cable is fully seated, unplug the cable, and plug it back in
  2. Trace the cable to the office pc, ensure the cable is plugged into a USB port on the back of the pc

 

PC Needs to be Rebooted

  1. In some cases, the PC needs to be rebooted
  2. Click the start icon located on the bottom left/middle of the screen
  3. Click the Power icon and select Restart
  4. Test a scan once the pc powered back on
